Personal Statement : The registrar year should be an enjoyable time, focusing particularly on non-clinical skills and learning about the philosophy of general practice.  My role as a trainer is to help and support you through the year, and to identify and address learning needs.  My practice is a small, friendly one with an ethos of personal care.

 Interests outside medicine are important and I remain an active Hockey player !.

  Mixed suburban (semi-rural) extending into West Kent villages.  Above average under 5s and below average over 65s.


Computer System and Tasks Performed :


  Exeter.  Administration.  Repeat prescribing, recalls, etc.  All consultations are recorded on computer.

Work Commitment :


During the first two weeks the new Registrar will sit in with the Trainer and/or other partners and spend time with other members of the Primary Health Care team.  Initial consultations may be thirty minutes each, reducing at a rate to be agreed between Registrar and Trainer.



Surgeries/Week [ 6/7 ]  :  Average Consultation/Surgery [ 12 ]  :  Average Visits/Week [ 4/5 ]


Appointment System (e.g. 10 minutes booked) :  10 minutes booked (more in early period)


On-call Commitment and Arrangements :


EMDOC two sessions/month minimum


Holiday Arrangements :


5 weeks Annual Leave (or as varied by Regional Contract)


Study Leave Arrangements :


Registrar to attend half day release course.  Half day per week personal learning and entitlement to attend Regional Summer School.
